nitrous use for launch assist
« on: March 13, 2008, 01:32:19 PM »
does anyone have any knowledge to share about nitrous assisted launching? or the use of nitrous with out turbocharged engine?

any good literature you guys know of.

my idea is to upgrade to a larger turbo, but try to keep the tighter torque converter i currently have in order to maintain streetability.

let's here the opinions.

Hey guys,

Yes i am running this setup.

It is a very simple yet very effective system ( in theory because the car is not done)
All i did was weld in a 1/8 npt aluminum bung i made when i was making my charge piping and installed a NX dry nozzle with a 50 shot in it. The XFI has its own fueling maps the overlay onto your main base map and add a self calibrated amounf of fuel ontop of the regular fuel on your main VE tables. I am using 95 lbs injectors but at low boost even 60's will get the job done.

The car is close to being done Don, but i am once again back up in the northern wilderness of Saskatchewan so the project has been put on hold for another 3 months. I am going to keep it a surprise for most of you boys, but George has seen it in its most recent state and you can try to squeeze him for something. I hope you all like it when it is done.

PS if anyone is thinking of using nitrous for spool, DO IT!!! do not listen to anyone on forums stating it is dangerous and all that crap! They simply do not know what they are doing... In my opinion that is.

Thanks Adrian,

As you know I have Nitrous already plumbed and just have to re-install the solenoids and bung on my new IC up pipe and hook it into the XFI  ;D

Can't wait to get my car up and running..  Spent way too long on the rear end  :P

Don, we all know that we spend more time and give more attention to our cars than to our wifes/girlfriends...except for Mike. :)

and that my friends is why i am still living the single life.
