Hello everyone, I just thought I would send you a quick update of what we talked about at last night’s meeting.
First of all in attendance was Dave Randy Mike Rob George Jim  Jamie.

We spoke a great deal about changing the webpage and to be honest I’m having a hard time  figuring out why? As far as I’m concerned it works just fine, it does exactly what we need it to do no problem.  Don has being doing a great job running it  for the last three or so years. Do we really need to go and spend a minimum of $ 200.00 to change it? Who knows  how much maintenance it will need once we start screwing with it? It’s spring and we want to use it not fix it.  Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind paying someone $200.00 for the work they have done, what I am worried about is in the future the fees will keep going up it never goes from $200.00 to $100.00 and then the maintenance fees will start. These are my own words keep that in mind, I believe if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.  Sure we could add some new pictures and maybe update it but to change everything and now start paying in the future? For no reason?  Right now  while everything is working fine, we could have the B.C. guys join and we could have an Alberta division and a  B.C division so  anyone could select any division.  We thought it was a great idea for them to join our site.  I also think that before any firm decisions  are made, we need everyone present at these meetings , and if Brian’s son is an option  its  crucial he’s also present.    Maybe it’s just me but I think that we could use the $200.00 for shirts or insurance or something. Don has been doing such a great job I don’t see  the need to change everything. If it was constantly crashing then fine however, it hasn't.  Not once.

Thanks Jamie for filling us in on the meeting. It seems that we can't get more than 6 people together at one time. So I guess that's OK. It seems to work between the forum and the meetings we seem to stay connected. I just want to set something straight. No disrepect to Don, he contributes to the club but, as far as the website goes, his role is simply kindly allowed us to use his hosting service for free. (Thank you Don), The content, website , pictures, videos, forum, changes, updates as well as email reminders of the meetings etc, etc, etc are ALL done by me as a contributing member of this club. I like to do it and think it helps keep us connected when we can't get out to the meetings.

I agree that we could just leave the entire web thing alone. I already took out the references to dates and things that change. so the website is static and can stay the same. The forum also works well as is.

If we want to get the BC guys involved (which I agree with) we have to make some changes in order to allow them to contribute. That's why we suggested to make a some simple changes. (simplify the website, add a BC links, add content to the forum, ... done !) . If anyone would like to make those changes, be my guest. Build us a new website an i'll make sure it gets posted. ( try and do it for free). You have already seen the mockup of a new site

http://www.reanmachine.com/demos/gnra/

Some of you told me that you liked it. It took several hours time to build and needs a bit of tweaking so it fits on everone's screen etc. If you don't want it. .... no sweat. If I had time and did it , I'd do it for free. I made the exising site  and forum but they are pretty cluncky but what do you want for an amateur.

In the mean time, I'm just going to work on getting my 56 ready for paint and get the 68 under 14 seconds. If you want changes, let me know. what you want.

Over and out ,... see you next month or sooner.

Rock on!

Brian

good to hear from you on this brian, I think that's what we were missing at the meeting. from what I have gathered  is that in order to include the bc guys we have to modify the website, and brian no longer has the time to do so. so we may as well update it at the same time, this is why the $200 dollars is needed to have brians son set up a new web site. I think it would be great if we could have brian and/or his son(sorry forgot your name) at the next meeting to clear things up and discuss options.  it seems change is needed, so we may as well do it all at once and try to please as many members as possible. of course the more input we have, the better.
